"Beautiful Things"

The effect of the Coronavirus pandemic has put a pause on many creatives all around the world. Government regulations limited large outings and closed down local businesses restricting all activities. However, amidst the chaos, they overcame these adversities by using the opportunity to reflect upon themselves and further develop their skills as a creator.

As a young designer, I always believe that painful moments can lead to beautiful creations. Although the world was changing, I continue to do what I love: creating beautiful things. The pandemic has also rekindled my love for painting, and this inspired me to put out a mini-collection that incorporated my artistry and creativity.

Melissa

Melissa is the first to my mini-quarantine collection. It is a flowy, elegant, two-piece dress that captures the beauty of the lotus flower. The hand-painted lotuses are a symbol of enlightenment and rebirth in the Buddhist culture. In nature, the lotus emerges from muddy water to bloom in beauty. Regardless of the painful moments that the pandemic has brought to the world, new doors will open to new beautiful things.

Freya

This figure-hugging and sophisticated dress is Freya. The hand-painted daisies are a symbol of motherhood and childbirth in Norse mythology. It is growing from the end of the dress to represent the overcoming of the pandemic leading on to new prosperous beginnings.
